Awed, confused, surprised.

Wednesday Pop 18

When I was a teen I didn't see that many music videos. I lived in Finnish countryside where MTV couldn't usually be viewed and there were only very few music programs on the channels I could watch. Cause I was a teen I tried to avoid the company of my parents and I didn't have a tv in my room. Therefore watching the music programs proved to be a bit of a problem. I didn't want my parents to get alarmed if I showed interest in music they found dangerous for a teen girl mind. So I let some of the music just pass, in the other ear out from the other.

Last week I ended up watching a couple of videos of a band I hadn't much paid attention to. And I noticed I was oddly intrigued and realized I had secretly liked their music before, a long long time ago. One of the videos I could remember very well from mid 90's. I remember how hypnotized I was by it. Especially the little girl dressed in a baroque dress had made a great impression on me. I can still remember I couldn't decide if I found the singer dude hot or not and how I was embarrassed about the whole thing.

When I Come Around (1994) by Green Day

I'd have wanted to embed the official official video, but apparently because of some record company shit (pardonne moi) I couldn't.

Ah dookie. Their only good album, and as often is in such cases, it's really bloody good.

Well, there are some of their songs I'd skip, but... Yeah. I confess: I like Green Day.
