Free patterns

Ever needed repeat patterns? Perhaps for a background of a web design or just for your desktop? I sure have. Here are a couple of nice and free resources to get some:

Pattern8 offers a bunch of different sorts of free seamless textures. The site includes lots of retro designs besides other styles. Unfortunately the site doesn't update very often. On the picture above the first and third patterns are from Pattern8.

Subtle Patterns is filled with light and often simple free tileable textures. Anyone can submit their own pattern to the site, so it seems to be rather often updated. Stay On the picture above the second and fourth patterns are from Subtle Patterns. I found this site through Free seamless textures on How About Orange.

Both sites offer the patterns free for both personal and commercial use. Read the Terms of Use of Pattern8 and About page of Subtle Patterns for more info.

Suomeksi (In Finnish):

Subtle Patterns löytyi How About Orange -blogin merkinnästä Free seamless textures.
