Marketing Basics: The reason

You build it and they will come! That's what they say. The truth is that's not likely to happen for real. Not just like that.

As fine as your product or service is, it's not going to sell itself. It's not magic, it's not fate.

Advertising is marketing, but marketing is not advertising. That means you can, you will and you have to market, but you don't have to advertise to do so.

It also means advertising should be only part of your marketing, not the whole deal. If you find advertising to be your thing.

Actually you are already marketing if you are creating a service or a product and setting it out for the people and businesses to get. It's the whole process.

Okay, you get that part. You've got a product or a service and you've got a way to deliver it to your clients. But the possible clients don't know about it. Hey, how could they?

In order your (future) clients to find your product or service you need to tell them about it. That's the basic reason of constantly working on marketing your business, your products and yourself.

Suomeksi (In Finnish):

Tuotteet ja palvelut, vaikka kuinka hyviä olisivatkin, eivät ihan oikeasti myy itse itseään. Tarvitset kunnon markkinointia.
