Making the weather beautiful with Partly Cloudy app

The weather here in Finland isn't always beautiful and warm. Quite frankly it's mostly pretty bad, especially during the recent years.

However there's a way to make the weather look prettier, at least kind of. With your iPhone and with this app called Partly Cloudy. It provides the weather data in an extremely attractive way. (See the whole post for more screenshots and details of Partly Cloudy app.)

The app shows the forecast for the time you can select using the "clock hand". The hourly forecast is available for every day of all the 7 days. You can choose between 12 hours, 24 hours and a week view.

Besides the temperature the wind force, precipitation (how humid it is) and the weather situation. The weather conditions are shown both with the clock-like view as well as with good old numbers. It looks so good I don't care if it rains.

The app costs 0.79 EUR (0.99 USD), which isn't that bad. It's available for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. Partly Cloudy on iTunes App Store.

I was a bit concerned to buy the app since sometimes these don't work that well here in Finland. Fortunately it looks like the app has data for different places around here. You can add several locations if you want to spy on the weather conditions in different places, like I do.

I have one complain though: I haven't been able to silence the annoying sound which the app gives when choosing between the 12h/24h/7d views.

The app is built by a Berlin based company called Raureif and the weather data is provided by Norwegian Meteorological Institute. As a funny little detail: The app uses a font called Helsinki.
