Awed, confused, surprised.

the site of tuesday

The site of Tuesday series. Each Tuesday I will post a screenshot and short description of an interesting or just very beautiful site. If you have a recommendation for a site of Tuesday, do tell me on the comments or through the contact.

I'm about to break free.

You may have noticed that The site of Tuesday hasn't been released since a couple of weeks back. Yes, it's on hiatus. Maybe forever, maybe not.

The site of Tuesday #35: Instant no Button! on tasselflower blog

Instant no Button!

The site of Tuesday #34: Girl Startup on tasselflower blog

Girl Startup is a blog by a 30-year old girl who has several different little things going on. In this blog she writes about business and entrepreneurship from a female point of view. Well, at least she wrote about the said things.

Unfortunately the blog has been quiet since January. But the older posts are still interesting. And the design of the site is still cool and simple and airy. I like.

The site of Tuesday #33: OK Great on tasselflower blog

OK Great is a showcase of art, design and culture. All brought together in a pile of bright and colorful.

The site of Tuesday #32: Power To The Poster on tasselflower blog

Do you have space for a cool looking and a statement making poster? And a decent printer? Head to Power To The Poster and print away a bunch of awesome posters. As many as you like. If you don't have the space or the printer, have a look at the posters anyways. Oh, and I do like the sites layout. Fresh colors, simple graphics and an overall look to compliment the posters.

Power To The Poster defines itself as a graphic design democracy project. Apparently the project had started with the question: "As a global citizen, what moves you?" The contributing designers have answered this question with the posters. And the the rest have answered with printing the posters and posting them to their surroundings.

The site of Tuesday #31: Creative Nerds on tasselflower blog

A quick entry this week: Check out Creative Nerds if you need design inspiration and tutorials from nerds to nerds. Freebies included.

The site of Tuesday #30: Minimal Sites on tasselflower blog

For a while it looked like Minimal Sites wouldn't be updated anymore, but it's back on. The site concentrates on showcasing websites with minimal layouts.

Minimal Sites' design is itself quite minimal. I like the clear black (and grey) on white with a hint of red. What makes it even more interesting for me is the site is built with Drupal.

The site of Tuesday #29: What The Duck on tasselflower blog

Due to the lack of inspiration this week I'm giving you this nicely sarcastic web comic, What The Duck. Enjoy, especially if you are and/or know a photographer of any sort.

The site of Tuesday #28: Recyclart on tasselflower blog

Showcasing art and design made from recycled materials, Recyclart focuses on images of the products instead of loads of text. The site is filled with design inspiration and one can also contribute with suggestions for the portfolio.

Recyclart has a dark, recycling and handmade styled layout. My main interest is however in the content, all the funky things made with recycling, re-using and up-cycling. Very inspirational.

The site of Tuesday #27: The Dieline on tasselflower blog

Specialized in packaging design, The Dieline promotes and reviews boxes, bottles, bags and more, and brings together industry, students and enthusiasts of the subject. The blog is frequently updated (a new entry titled Haus of Gaga Concept was posted while I was writing this entry). The design of the site is simple and polished, and I personally like the teal on white theme. Lots of ads, but at least they fit the look of the site as well as the content.
